Due to Popular Demand Our Next Farmers Market Dinner
Will Be Held On Two Consecutive Nights!

Tuesday, March 11th & Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

We stage these dinners every few months, using seasonal produce fresh from Farmers
Markets in the area. If you would like to receive announcements of future Farmers
Market Dinners, just send us an email requesting you be added to our mailing list.
We look forward to seeing you at the next one.

Thanks, as always, to our friends at Colorado Wine Company for their insightful wine
pairings.

The Menu

Starter
Cream of Fresh Pea Soup topped with Pea Tendrils

Wine Pairing: For a dish like this, a white grape with a creamy texture would fit well
like the Semillon in our Archambeau White Bordeaux for $10.99, or for a red pairing, try
a Spanish grenache without too much spice like our Coto de Hayas Campo de Borja
Garnacha for $14.99/btl.

Salad Course
Farmers Market Greens with Asparagus and Herb Lemon Dressing

Wine Pairing: Asparagus is one of those difficult wine pairings that either works or doesn't,
no real gray area in between. We usually go with a crisp white with nice acidity and viscous
texture like a white Rioja. We recommend the Cune Monopole Rioja $14.99/btl.

Main Course
Moroccan Style Lamb Stew with Garbanzo Beans, Baby Carrots and Baby Turnips

Wine Pairing: For the earthy tastes and fat content of the lamb, we usually go to
the Rhone in France, so try the Elisabeth Chambellan Chateauneuf du Pape for $31.99/btl
or the Grand Nicolet Rasteau Red for $17.99/btl. If you want to do a contrasting pairing,
get something fruitier to balance out the Morrocan spices like the Casa Barranca Santa
Barbara Grenache for $24.99/btl.

or
White Bean, Sausage and Duck Cassoulet with Greens

Wine Pairing: A good pairing rule of thumb is to match wine and food from the same region.
In this case, southwest France is known for Cassoulet so try the Sarabande Roussillon Red for
$13.99/btl. Or, to buck that idea entirely, the Orcella Orsus Garnacha from Montsant, Spain
would be a pretty fantastic pairing as well for $11.99/btl. If white is more your speed, try our
Schmelz Gruner Veltliner for $17.99/btl. Gruner has a nice backbone of spice to hold up to
the duck and sausage. Or, for the white pairing from heaven, Cold Heaven Sanford/Benedict
Vineyard Viognier for $34.99/btl (pun intended).

or
Braised Beef Ribs over Creme Fraiche Mashed Potatoes

Wine Pairing: Try big, rich and fruity with this dish, like our Kenneth Volk Paso Robles Cabernet
Sauvignon for $24.99/btl or Preston Dry Creek Zinfandel for $21.99. For a white, go with big
and rich as well like our Adelaida Glenrose White for $24.99/btl or the Talley Arroyo Grande
Valley Chardonnay for $25.99/btl.

or
Wild Mushroom Lasagna with White Sauce

Wine Pairing: Though it's fun to buck tradition, the classic pinot noir and mushroom pairing
is a can't miss most of the time. We'd recommend the Stephen Ross Central Coast Pinot Noir
for $19.99/btl or the Bertagna Bourgogne '05 for $25.99/btl. Or for a white option, try our
Domaine Bastide Roussanne for $10.99/btl.
